John Amos

John began his career in the Royal Navy and it was the maritime industry where he later spent the majority of his professional life after leaving the services, specialising in Vessel Traffic Services.

Having always enjoyed the outdoors, it was the subject of bushcraft that notably increased John’s awareness of the natural world. As this interest grew he recognised the challenges being faced by nature globally, which spurred him on to leave mainstream employment and work in environmental conservation for a number of years.

He now works with Wild Human where he looks forward to once again furthering himself but in a much more challenging environment, embedded within a team that has a truly astounding level of knowledge and a wonderful humility.

“In order to truly thrive as a species we must do so in harmony with nature. If we are ever to protect the natural world, we must strive to first understand and then respect our place within it.”
